We met with a committee from Japan to discuss how to address social isolation and loneliness (SIL) in our world. The Japanese delegation also met with several local groups in the Bay Area (such as our partner Front Porch in the picture below) to learn about UCSF efforts to address SIL. Though we had much information to share, we were also excited about what we learned from efforts in Japan.

• ON THE PAGE is a creative writing workshop that provides a safe space for Older Adults and Adults with Disabilities to share their poems, plays, prose, and memoirs and receive constructive feedback. In addition, we discuss inspiring literary works and explore writing exercises that generate new material and help nurture self-expression. The workshop will culminate with a public reading in San Francisco. Whether participants want to revisit old works or begin a new project, ON THE PAGE provides a welcoming group to grow together as writers. The workshop will be taking place on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month (5:30pm to 7pm) at Ruth's Table (3160 21st Street SF, CA) and the 4th Thursday of the month (12:45pm to 2:15pm) at Curry Senior Center Tech and Wellness Hub (520 Turk Street SF, CA)
